Cumberland County, IL (September 26, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision shut down eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Cumberland County on Wednesday, September 24, and left several people injured.

Illinois State Police reported the crash occurred around 2:20 p.m. near milepost 110 in Woodbury. The wreck involved a sewage truck, a semi-truck, and a pickup. The impact caused sewage to spill onto the roadway, creating hazardous conditions for first responders.

All eastbound lanes were closed following the crash, with traffic diverted to the Montrose Exit at milepost 105. The left lane reopened around 4:15 p.m., and the right lane was reopened by 5 p.m. Authorities confirmed that injuries occurred, though the number of people hurt and the extent of their conditions remain undisclosed.
