Jackson County, MO (August 1, 2025) – A fatal crash occurred on westbound Interstate 70 at mile marker 25.4 on July 30 at 4:23 p.m. The collision involved two vehicles, a 2010 Toyota Scion and a 2022 Dodge Ram. The Toyota Scion, driven by a 55-year-old female from Blue Springs, MO, struck the Dodge Ram and ran off the left side of the roadway. The Toyota overturned, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. Unfortunately, the driver of the Toyota, a 55-year-old female, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District.
Two juvenile females, both 15 years old and occupants of the Toyota, were transported by Central Jackson County Ambulance to Centerpoint Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 58-year-old female from Mexico, MO, was unharmed and drove the vehicle from the scene.
This incident marks the 40th fatal crash and the 43rd fatality of the year for Troop A. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the full details surrounding the incident.
