Lafayette, MO – Rear-End Crash on WB I-70 at MM 31

Lafayette, MO (September 23, 2025) – A rear-end crash on westbound Interstate 70 at mile marker 31 on Saturday, September 20, left one driver seriously injured and one passenger with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred when a 2014 white RAM 1500, for reasons still under police investigation, didn’t stop in time and struck a 2016 silver RAM 1500.

The 54-year-old driver of the 2014 RAM, from Kansas City, MO, was transported by Odessa EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center with serious injuries. A 19-year-old female passenger in the silver RAM from Oak Grove, MO, sustained minor injuries and was transported by CJC to Centerpoint Medical Center. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
