St. Charles, MO – Teen Driver Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-70 EB near MO-94

St. Charles, MO (August 20, 2025) – A 19-year-old driver from Alton, Illinois, was hurt following a two-vehicle collision on eastbound Interstate 70 west of MO-94 on Monday afternoon, August 18, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers reported the crash occurred at around 12:49 p.m. when a 2007 Mazda 6, driven by the teen, made an unsafe lane change. The maneuver caused the Mazda’s right front to strike the left rear of a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica operated by a 67-year-old man from Florissant, Missouri.

The impact left the Mazda with moderate damage, and it was towed from the scene by Superior Towing. The Chrysler sustained only minor damage and was able to be driven away.

Emergency medical crews with St. Charles County Ambulance transported the 19-year-old driver to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis with minor injuries. The Chrysler driver was not reported injured. Trooper D.R. McKenzie (542) investigated the scene with assistance from Trooper B.T. Dorff (198).
