St. Louis, MO – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-270 North Near I-70

St. Louis, MO (August 7, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash occurred on Tuesday, August 5, at approximately 3:48 p.m. on northbound Interstate 270, just south of Interstate 70 in St. Louis. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision involved five vehicles and resulted in injuries to at least two individuals.

The crash occurred when the driver of a 2006 Mitsubishi Boxtruck failed to keep a proper lookout and struck the rear of a 2014 Toyota Highlander. The impact caused Vehicle 3 to push forward into a 2014 Chevrolet Volt, which was then pushed into a 2020 Toyota RAV4. A 2020 Chrysler Pacifica also struck Vehicle 2 as its driver attempted to avoid the crash.

The driver of the Toyota Highlander, a 30-year-old man from O’Fallon, MO, sustained serious injuries and was transported to SSM Health DePaul Hospital by Medic One. The driver of the Mitsubishi Boxtruck, a 40-year-old man from Saint Louis, MO, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital Saint Louis by the Maryland Heights Fire Protection District. Fortunately, all other drivers involved in the crash, including the 19-year-old from Springfield, MO, and the 45-year-old female from O’Fallon, MO, were not seriously injured.

The crash caused significant traffic delays, and authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the incident. St. Louis law enforcement, along with assistance from local police departments, responded to the scene.
