Bonner Springs, KS (September 25, 2025) – A Topeka woman was injured Tuesday afternoon, September 23, in a two-vehicle collision on I-70 East in Wyandotte County, just a mile east of the Bonner Springs exit.

The crash was reported around 3:24 p.m. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2019 Nissan Sentra was stopped on the right shoulder before backing into the center lane in reverse, traveling the wrong way. A 2026 Peterbilt semi attempted to swerve to avoid the car but collided with it.

The Nissan’s driver, 68-year-old Sandra Wiggins of Topeka, sustained suspected minor injuries and was taken to Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. The semi’s driver, 55-year-old Billy Fullard of Hohenwald, TN, was not injured. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles and properly restrained at the time of the crash.
