Dayton, OH – Injury Accident on I-70 near SR-49

Dayton, OH (August 30, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 near Clayton on Friday afternoon, August 29, led to serious traffic disruptions and reported injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol Dayton Post confirmed the collision occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. near State Route 49.

Eastbound lanes of I-70 were fully closed as of 5 p.m., while only one westbound lane remained open. OHGO traffic cameras showed at least two semi-trucks and one additional vehicle involved in the crash.

Emergency responders, including police, fire, and EMS units, were on scene providing care to those injured and managing the blocked lanes. The severity of the injuries has not been fully disclosed.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision as cleanup and traffic restoration efforts proceed.
