Independence, MO – Woman Injured in Crash on I-70 at Little Blue Pkwy

Independence, MO (September 25, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on I-70 East at Little Blue Parkway left one woman injured on Monday evening, September 22, in Jackson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at about 8:09 p.m. when a 2016 Toyota RAV4 crashed into the rear of a 2020 Freightliner that was stopped for traffic.

The driver of the Toyota, a 46-year-old woman from Blue Springs, sustained minor injuries. Emergency crews with the Kansas City Fire Department transported her to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Freightliner, a 54-year-old man from Kansas City, was not hurt. Both drivers had been wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
