New Stanton, PA (July 20, 2025) — A tragic tractor-trailer accident on Thursday, July 17, led to the death of a 71-year-old man and caused major traffic disruptions across several key routes in Westmoreland County.
The fatal crash occurred near the interchange connecting Route 119, Route 66, and Interstate 70. Emergency crews responded swiftly to the scene, where they worked to treat the injured and manage traffic in the aftermath.
The victim, identified as Carl Noonan, was transported to a nearby hospital but sadly passed away from his injuries. As a result of the crash, Route 119 and Route 66 were fully closed to traffic, while I-70 was reduced to a single lane in each direction for several hours.
Authorities with the Pennsylvania State Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further information about how the collision occurred or whether other vehicles were involved has not yet been made public.
