Saline Co., MO – 1 Injured in Crash on I-70 WB at MM 78

Saline County, MO (August 29, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 westbound in Saline County left one person injured on Wednesday afternoon, August 27.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident happened around 1:06 p.m. at mile marker 78. A 2018 Ford Focus, driven by a 19-year-old man from Blackwater, changed lanes and struck a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 24-year-old woman from Rock Port. Both vehicles then hit the guardrail.

The Ford driver suffered minor injuries and was transported by Saline County EMS to Fitzgibbon Hospital. The Chevrolet driver was not hurt. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.

Troopers were assisted by the Saline County Sheriff’s Department and multiple patrol units.
