St. Charles, MO – 4 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-70 EB Near Convention Center Blvd

St. Charles, MO (August 19, 2025) – Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision Saturday afternoon, August 16, on Interstate 70 Eastbound near Convention Centre Boulevard in St. Charles County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash at 4:50 p.m. after traffic slowed in the area. A 2003 Ford E350, driven by a 33-year-old man from Donnellson, IL, failed to maintain a proper lookout and struck the rear of a 2013 Subaru Outback. The force of the crash caused the Ford to veer right and strike a 2018 Buick Enclave, which then collided with a 2020 Ford Escape.
The 41-year-old driver of the Subaru, a woman from St. Louis, sustained minor injuries and was taken to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles. A 69-year-old woman driving the Buick from St. Louis suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, along with her 34-year-old passenger, who sustained minor injuries. Additionally, a 28-year-old male passenger in the Ford E350 was treated for minor injuries at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital.
Several of the vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.
We wish all of the injured individuals a full and swift recovery. Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
Multi-Vehicle Crashes in St. Charles
Multi-vehicle crashes are particularly dangerous on heavily travelled highways like I-70 in St. Charles. With high traffic volumes and frequent congestion, even a brief lapse in attention can cause a chain reaction that impacts several vehicles and leads to multiple injuries.
Common injuries in pileups include whiplash, fractures, concussions, and internal trauma. Victims often require hospital care, follow-up treatment, and rehabilitation. Beyond medical needs, the financial toll can be significant as victims cope with lost wages, mounting bills, and property damage.
Missouri law allows those injured by another driver’s negligence to pursue compensation. Damages may include hospital expenses, lost income, property repair, and pain and suffering. In serious injury cases, victims may also be entitled to compensation for ongoing medical needs and reduced earning capacity.
Because multi-vehicle crashes involve several drivers and insurers, liability can be complex. Determining who was at fault—and to what degree—requires careful investigation. That is why many victims seek help from experienced personal injury attorneys. A lawyer can analyze official crash reports, interview witnesses, and work with accident reconstruction experts to establish liability and advocate for fair compensation.
St. Charles County has seen consistent traffic growth as more residents commute between suburban communities and St. Louis. Interchanges like Convention Centre Blvd remain high-risk areas due to merging lanes and heavy congestion. Drivers are urged to maintain safe following distances, avoid distractions, and remain patient in traffic to help prevent chain-reaction crashes.
For those injured in accidents like Saturday’s, prompt medical care and timely legal guidance are essential steps toward recovery and protecting long-term financial security.
