The Impala suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene, while the Freightliner sustained moderate damage but was driven away.
We hope for the injured woman’s full recovery. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the collision.
Truck-Involved Crashes in St. Louis
Collisions involving passenger vehicles and commercial trucks are often severe due to the size and weight difference between the vehicles. High-speed corridors like I-70 in St. Louis County see heavy truck traffic every day, increasing the chances of these dangerous crashes.
When a passenger car collides with a semi-truck, the occupants of the smaller vehicle are far more likely to suffer serious injuries. Common injuries include broken bones, concussions, spinal cord damage, and internal trauma. Recovery may involve hospitalisation, surgeries, and long-term rehabilitation, placing significant financial and emotional strain on victims and their families.
Missouri law gives injured individuals the right to pursue compensation if negligence caused the accident. Compensation may include coverage for medical bills, lost wages, property repairs, and pain and suffering. In cases involving long-term injuries, victims may also seek damages for ongoing medical treatment or loss of future income.
Truck accident claims are often complex, as multiple parties may share liability. Responsibility may rest with the truck driver, the trucking company, or even maintenance contractors. Because of this, many victims choose to work with experienced personal injury attorneys who can investigate crash details, review safety records, and negotiate with insurers to pursue fair compensation.
St. Louis highways remain busy freight routes, and I-70 in particular sees constant traffic from both commuters and trucks. Drivers are encouraged to remain cautious when travelling near semis, allowing extra space and avoiding sudden stops that could lead to rear-end collisions.
For those injured in truck-related crashes, prompt medical care and legal guidance are essential steps to ensuring recovery and protecting financial security.
