St. Louis, MO – Injury Crash on EB I-70 Near Jennings Station Rd

St. Louis, MO (July 29, 2025) – A crash involving three vehicles occurred on eastbound Interstate 70 near Jennings Station Road on Saturday, July 26, at approximately 4:56 p.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident began when the driver of a 2012 Hyundai Genesis, traveling in lane 1, was driving too fast for conditions. The driver made an unsafe lane change to the right and struck a 2006 Honda Accord, which was traveling in lane 2.
As a result of the collision, the Honda Accord traveled off the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then began to slide and re-entered lane 3, where it struck a 2021 Toyota Camry. Following the impact, both the Hyundai Genesis and Toyota Camry veered off the road and struck guardrails.
The driver of the Hyundai Genesis, a 25-year-old male from St. Louis, was transported by Northeast Fire Protection District to Barnes-Jewish Hospital with moderate injuries. The other drivers involved were not injured, and their vehicles were towed from the scene by A2B Towing and Recovery.
The crash is under investigation by Trooper E. R. Sikes of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
We hope those hurt recover swiftly.
Multi-Vehicle Collisions and Their Impact in St. Louis
Multi-vehicle crashes, like the one on eastbound I-70, can be particularly dangerous, especially when speed and unsafe lane changes are involved. In this incident, the collision triggered a chain reaction, affecting multiple vehicles and leading to significant property damage and injuries.
Collisions like these are common on busy highways such as I-70 in St. Louis, where heavy traffic and varying speeds can create hazardous conditions. Factors contributing to multi-vehicle accidents include:
- Speeding: As seen in this case, driving too fast for road conditions, especially in high-traffic or inclement weather situations, can make it difficult for drivers to react quickly to unexpected hazards.
- Unsafe Lane Changes: Sudden or unsignaled lane changes can result in collisions, particularly when other drivers are unable to anticipate the move.
- Roadway Hazards: Drivers losing control of their vehicles and veering off the road, like those in this incident, often lead to crashes involving guardrails or other structures.
If you are involved in a multi-vehicle crash, it’s important to seek medical attention immediately, even if injuries appear minor. Many injuries, such as whiplash or internal injuries, may not be immediately apparent but can worsen over time.
Victims of car accidents may be entitled to compensation for:
- Medical Expenses: Coverage for hospital visits, surgeries, and rehabilitation.
- Lost Wages: Reimbursement for time off work due to injury.
- Pain and Suffering: Compensation for emotional and physical distress.
- Property Damage: For repairs or replacement of damaged vehicles.
