Boone County, MO – Moderate Injuries in Crash on WB I-70 W of US 40

Boone County, MO (September 18, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on westbound I-70, west of US 40, resulted in moderate injuries on Tuesday, September 16. The incident occurred around 1:16 p.m. when a 2024 Ford Transit, driven by an 81-year-old man from Buford, GA, made an unsafe lane change. This caused the left side of the Ford Transit to collide with the right side of a 2015 Kenworth W9, driven by a 25-year-old man from Lawrence, AR. The impact caused the Ford Transit to veer off the road, strike a cable barrier, and come to a stop, blocking eastbound I-70.

The 81-year-old driver and his 75-year-old female passenger were both transported to University Hospital by University EMS with moderate injuries. The Kenworth W9 was towed by I-70 Towing, and the Ford Transit was also towed from the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Our thoughts are with those injured, and we hope for their full recovery.
