Callaway Co., MO – Five-Car Collision on I-70 near Auxvasse Creek Brdg

Callaway County, MO (June 5, 2025) – A five-vehicle chain-reaction crash caused major delays along westbound Interstate 70 on Wednesday afternoon near the Auxvasse Creek Bridge. The collision, which occurred around 1:50 p.m. on July 2, left one woman injured and prompted a multi-agency emergency response.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, traffic had begun to slow when a 2015 GMC Acadia, driven by a 67-year-old man from Alexandria, Kentucky, failed to brake in time and rear-ended a 2014 Ford F250. The impact triggered a series of collisions, pushing the F250 into a 2022 Ford F150, which then struck a 2021 Lincoln Aviator and a 2018 Ford Flex.
The Ford F250 sustained the most extensive damage and was deemed totaled. The Ford F150 also suffered significant impact, while the Acadia was moderately damaged. Fortunately, the Aviator and Flex were able to leave the scene under their own power, showing only minor damage.
A 58-year-old St. Charles woman riding as a passenger in the Ford F150 sustained minor injuries. Callaway County EMS transported her to University Hospital for medical treatment. All other individuals involved were reported unharmed. Authorities confirmed that everyone except the F250 driver—listed as “exempt”—was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Towing crews were called in to clear the wreckage from the roadway, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop F continues to investigate, with assistance from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office and Trooper J. Koester.
We extend our best wishes to the injured woman and hope for her swift recovery.
