St. Louis City, MO (July 6, 2025) — A two-vehicle crash occurred on Friday afternoon along eastbound Interstate 70 near Adelaide Avenue, resulting in moderate injuries and significant vehicle damage. The collision was reported at approximately 12:59 p.m. on July 4.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2013 Kia Optima collided with the rear of a 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The impact forced the Mercedes-Benz off the roadway, where it came to a stop on the right shoulder facing northbound. The Kia ultimately came to rest along the left shoulder.
The driver of the Kia Optima, a 21-year-old man from Kansas City, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital by Abbott EMS. The Mercedes-Benz driver, a 23-year-old woman from Florissant, was unharmed, though her vehicle suffered major damage.
Both vehicles required towing from the scene, and St. Louis City Towing responded. Preliminary findings point to inattention as a contributing factor in the crash. Authorities continue to investigate.
We extend our well wishes to the injured driver and hope for a full and swift recovery.
