St. Louis, MO – One Person Injured in Rear-End Accident on I-70 EB East of MO-141

St. Louis, MO (February 6, 2026) – A rear-end crash on eastbound Interstate 70 left one person injured in St. Louis during the morning commute on Wednessday, February 4. The collision happened at about 7:38 a.m. on I-70 eastbound, just east of Missouri Route 141, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

State troopers identified two vehicles traveling eastbound at the time of the crash. A 2008 Chevrolet Impala and a 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer were both moving along the interstate when traffic ahead slowed. The driver of the Chevrolet applied brakes as congestion formed in front of her vehicle.

The driver of the Mitsubishi also attempted to slow down. During braking, the Mitsubishi began to skid. Its front end struck the rear of the Chevrolet, causing damage to both vehicles. The Chevrolet sustained moderate damage and was able to leave the scene under its own power.

The Mitsubishi suffered extensive front-end damage and required towing from the scene. Emergency crews responded and focused on the driver of the Mitsubishi, a 50-year-old man from St. Charles. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Paramedics evaluated the injured driver and transported him by ambulance to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles for medical care. His injuries were described as moderate. No injuries were reported for the driver of the Chevrolet, a 23-year-old woman from St. Charles.

Drivers traveling through the area may have noticed emergency vehicles along the eastbound lanes as responders handled medical care and vehicle removal. Traffic congestion was present while crews worked to clear the roadway.
